Jill

A Superhero of Virtue!

Jill Olecki, has been battling cancer; Diffuse Large B-cell (non-hodgkins) Lymphoma, since January of 2019. She has experienced many gains and abundant setbacks through her years of treatment and has handled all her many crosses like a superhero of virtue. After lengthy treatments of chemo and many hospitalizations, on April 18, 2022, Jill underwent amputation surgery on her right leg as there was an infection in the bone at her knee.  Shortly afterwards, Jill courageously accepted the news that she needed to undergo below-knee amputation of her second (left) leg due to her heel wound not healing.  She again faithfully embraced her cross stating “Suffering is our path to heaven”.

In April of 2022, after much research and talking with several contacts (thank you Tim Griffin, Justin Kramer, Megan Dearing and Andrew Dymon!) we were able to purchase a mobile stair lift for Jill to use, both in and outside the home. The mobile stairlift has also allowed Jill to, once again, be able to sleep in her own bed (and Dave too) as their bedroom is upstairs on the second floor. Jill said this; "Sleeping in my own bed- after 6 months- has been wonderful!!"  Jill and her family have been able to use the stairlift at several other locations, including a recent family anniversary party at an upstairs restaurant. They've had several people ask them about the stairlift and how it might help solve their mobility problems.

Additionally, the Oleckis' van was totaled in a car accident on the way home from vacation while Jill and Dave were in the ICU.  By God’s abundant grace and several guardian angels, no one was injured but the van is not salvageable.  We know the Lord is giving each of us the opportunity to grow closer to our heavenly Father just witnessing this family’s strength and relentless commitment to faith & hope in the face of such adversity (to learn more about the Olecki family’s journey, visit her CaringBridge site at www.caringbridge.org/visit/jillolecki
