Anthony-the glass is always half full, never half empty!
On June 10, 2022, we were blessed to be able to gift a handicap accessible van to this wonderful young man, Anthony! At the age of 18, after several falls, Anthony was diagnosed with Fredreich’s Ataxia (a rare neuromuscular disease). He is now 34 and is confined full time to a wheel chair or bed and did not have a vehicle that would allow him to very easily and safely get out to his many doctors appointments or daily living activities. Anthony was also blessed to receive a wonderful shower chair donated by Mrs. Colleen Kaelin as his had recently broken!
We’d like to share an excerpt from a reference letter which was submitted on Anthony’s behalf:
“I was so proud of him for running for the office of Class President in high school. His graduation address as class president, was one of encouragement and promises of achieving future goals. He showed much courage, when during his speech, he shared info about his new diagnosis. Many were brought to tears and all were standing as he carefully made his way back to his seat. After graduation, Anthony began to deal with all the physical changes that were incapacitating him slowly. He loves children and the elderly. He has spunk, tenacity, and a “can do” attitude. He always maintained a positive attitude and considered the glass half full vs. half empty (and still does so even now).“ As you can tell Anthony has a positive and thankful spirit, even with the debilitating diagnosis he lives with each day.
